Leviticus 27 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses,
saying,
2 Speak unto the
children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall
make a singular vow, the persons shall be for the
LORD by thy
estimation.
3 And thy
estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old
even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be
fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the
sanctuary.
4 And if it be
a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.
5 And if it be
from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy
estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for
the female ten shekels.
6 And if it be
from a month old even unto five years old, then thy
estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver,
and for the female thy estimation shall be three
shekels of silver.
7 And if it be
from sixty years old and above; if it be a male,
then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the
female ten shekels.
8 But if he be
poorer than thy estimation, then he shall present himself
before the priest, and the priest shall value him;
according to his ability that vowed shall the priest
value him.
9 And if it be
a beast, whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man
giveth of such unto the LORD shall be holy.
10 He shall not
alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a
good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then
it and the exchange thereof shall be holy.
11 And if it
be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a
sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the
priest:
12 And the priest
shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou
valuest it, who art the priest, so shall
it be.
13 But if he will
at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part
thereof unto thy estimation.
14 ¶ And when a man shall
sanctify his house to be holy unto the LORD, then the priest shall
estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest
shall estimate it, so shall it stand.
15 And if he that
sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add
the fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto
it, and it shall be his.
16 And if a man
shall sanctify unto the LORD some part of a field of his possession,
then thy estimation shall be according to the seed
thereof: an homer of barley seed shall be valued
at fifty shekels of silver.
17 If he sanctify
his field from the year of jubile, according to thy
estimation it shall stand.
18 But if he
sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest
shall reckon unto him the money according to the years
that remain, even unto the year of the jubile, and it
shall be abated from thy estimation.
19 And if he that
sanctified the field will in any wise redeem it, then he
shall add the fifth part of the money of thy
estimation unto it, and it shall be assured to him.
20 And if he will
not redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to
another man, it shall not be redeemed any more.
21 But the field,
when it goeth out in the jubile, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted;
the possession thereof shall be the priest's.
22 And if a
man sanctify unto the LORD a field which he hath bought, which is
not of the fields of his possession;
23 Then the
priest shall reckon unto him the worth of thy estimation,
even unto the year of the jubile: and he shall give thine
estimation in that day, as a holy thing unto the LORD.
24 In the year of
the jubile the field shall return unto him of whom it was
bought, even to him to whom the possession of the
land did belong.
25 And all thy
estimations shall be according to the shekel of the
sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.
26 ¶ Only the firstling of
the beasts, which should be the LORD's firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it
be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD's.
27 And if it
be of an unclean beast, then he shall redeem it
according to thine estimation, and shall add a fifth part
of it thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be
sold according to thy estimation.
28
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote
unto the LORD
of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of
the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed:
every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD.
29 None devoted,
which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but
shall surely be put to death.
30 And all the
tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the
land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: it is holy
unto the LORD.
31 And if a man
will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall
add thereto the fifth part thereof.
32 And concerning
the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of
whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy
unto the LORD.
33 He shall not
search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change
it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the
change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
34 These are
the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in
mount Sinai.
THE FOURTH BOOK
OF MOSES, CALLED
NUMBERS
Numbers
1 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in
the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the
congregation, on the first day of the second
month, in the second year after they were come out of the
land of Egypt, saying,
2 Take ye the sum
of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after
their families, by the house of their fathers, with the
number of their names, every male by their polls;
3 From twenty
years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to
war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their
armies.
4 And with you
there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of
the house of his fathers.
5 ¶ And these are
the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the
tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6 Of Simeon;
Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7 Of Judah;
Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8 Of Issachar;
Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
9 Of Zebulun;
Eliab the son of Helon.
10 Of the
children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of
Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
11 Of Benjamin;
Abidan the son of Gideoni.
12 Of Dan;
Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13 Of Asher;
Pagiel the son of Ocran.
14 Of Gad;
Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
15 Of Naphtali;
Ahira the son of Enan.
16 These were
the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes
of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
17 ¶ And Moses and Aaron
took these men which are expressed by their names:
18 And they
assembled all the congregation together on the first day
of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees
after their families, by the house of their fathers,
according to the number of the names, from twenty years
old and upward, by their polls.
19 As the LORD commanded Moses, so he
numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 And the
children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, by their
generations, after their families, by the house of their
fathers, according to the number of the names, by their
polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all
that were able to go forth to war;
21 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five
hundred.
22 ¶ Of the children of
Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by
the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of
them, according to the number of the names, by their
polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all
that were able to go forth to war;
23 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three
hundred.
24 ¶ Of the children of
Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the
house of their fathers, according to the number of the
names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were
able to go forth to war;
25 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Gad, were
forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.
26 ¶ Of the children of
Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the
house of their fathers, according to the number of the
names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were
able to go forth to war;
27 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Judah,
were threescore and fourteen thousand and six
hundred.
28 ¶ Of the children of
Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by
the house of their fathers, according to the number of
the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that
were able to go forth to war;
29 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four
hundred.
30 ¶ Of the children of
Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by
the house of their fathers, according to the number of
the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that
were able to go forth to war;
31 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four
hundred.
32 ¶ Of the children of
Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by
their generations, after their families, by the house of
their fathers, according to the number of the names, from
twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go
forth to war;
33 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.
34 ¶ Of the children of
Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by
the house of their fathers, according to the number of
the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that
were able to go forth to war;
35 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
Manasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two
hundred.
36 ¶ Of the children of
Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by
the house of their fathers, according to the number of
the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that
were able to go forth to war;
37 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four
hundred.
38 ¶ Of the children of
Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the
house of their fathers, according to the number of the
names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were
able to go forth to war;
39 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Dan, were
threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.
40 ¶ Of the children of
Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the
house of their fathers, according to the number of the
names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were
able to go forth to war;
41 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Asher,
were forty and one thousand and five hundred.
42 ¶ Of the children of
Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their
families, by the house of their fathers, according to the
number of the names, from twenty years old and upward,
all that were able to go forth to war;
43 Those that
were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four
hundred.
44 These are
those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered,
and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each
one was for the house of his fathers.
45 So were all
those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by
the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and
upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
46 Even all they
that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three
thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47 ¶ But the Levites after
the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48 For the LORD had spoken unto Moses,
saying,
49 Only thou
shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum
of them among the children of Israel:
50 But thou shalt
appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and
over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong
to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the
vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and
shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
51 And when the
tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it
down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the
Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
52 And the
children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by
his own camp, and every man by his own standard,
throughout their hosts.
53 But the
Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of
testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation
of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the
charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
54 And the
children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so
did they.
To the chief
Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or
Song of Asaph.
PSALM 76 1 In Judah is God known: his name is
great in Israel.
2 In Salem also is his tabernacle,
and his dwelling place in Zion.
3 There brake he
the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the
battle. Selah.
4 Thou art more glorious and
excellent than the mountains of prey.
5 The stouthearted are
spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none
of the men of might have found their hands.
6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot
and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
7 Thou, even thou, art
to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art
angry?
8 Thou didst cause judgment
to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the
meek of the earth. Selah.
10 Surely
the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of
wrath shalt thou restrain.
11 Vow, and pay unto the
LORD your
God: let all that be
round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
12 He shall cut off the spirit of
princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
To the chief
Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph.
Psalm 77 1 I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God
with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased
not: my soul refused to be comforted.
3 I remembered God, and was
troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
4 Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I
am so troubled that I cannot speak.
5 I
have considered the days of old, the years of ancient
times.
6 I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made
diligent search.
7 Will the Lord cast off for
ever? and will he be favourable no more?
8 Is his mercy clean gone for ever?
doth his promise fail for evermore?
9 Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut
up his tender mercies? Selah.
10 And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the
years of the right hand of the most High.
11 I will remember the works
of the LORD:
surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
12 I will meditate also of all thy
work, and talk of thy doings.
13 Thy way, O God, is
in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
14 Thou art the God that
doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the
people.
15 Thou hast with thine
arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph.
Selah.
16 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee;
they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
17 The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out
a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
18 The voice of thy thunder was
in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
19 Thy way is in the
sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
20 Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand
of Moses and Aaron.
